The ECLLA team proudly participated in the 31st Congress of the European Hematology Association (EHA 2026), held from June 11–14, 2026, in Stockholm, Sweden. As one of the world’s premier hematology events, EHA brings together leading experts, researchers, clinicians, patient advocates, and industry representatives dedicated to advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and management of blood disorders.
For ECLLA, a key focus of this year’s congress was Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), a rapidly evolving area of hematology where ongoing research continues to transform patient outcomes. EHA 2026 provided an excellent opportunity to gain insights into the latest scientific developments, emerging treatment strategies, and real-world evidence shaping the future of CLL care.
ECLLA’s activities in Stockholm started with the engagement of co-founder Jan Rynne, who moderated a breakout session during PALS Haem on June 10. This was followed by ECLLA’s own breakfast panel discussion on June 11, which brought together key stakeholders to exchange perspectives on“Time-Limited Treatment in CLL: The Holistic Impact of Treatment-Free Periods for Patients, Care Partners, and the Wider CLL Community.” The discussion highlighted the importance of considering not only clinical outcomes but also the broader impact of treatment-free periods on quality of life, emotional well-being, and daily living for patients and those who support them.
Throughout the congress, the ECLLA team engaged with healthcare professionals, researchers, patient advocacy representatives, and partners from across Europe and beyond. These valuable exchanges fostered collaboration, strengthened existing partnerships, and provided important perspectives on current challenges and opportunities within the CLL community.
After several days of scientific sessions, panel discussions, networking, and knowledge exchange, the ECLLA team returned home empowered and inspired by the dedication of the global hematology and CLL community. The insights gained and connections strengthened in Stockholm reinforce ECLLA’s vision that every person living with CLL in Europe receives equitable, informed, and optimal care through collaboration, research, and advocacy.
ECLLA looks forward to continuing its engagement with the global hematology community and supporting advancements in CLL research and patient care.
