European CLL Association (ECLLA)

Advancing care and research in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia

One Europe. Equal care.

Mission

ECLLA unites clinicians, researchers, patient advocates, and industry partners to advance understanding of CLL.

Vision

Every person living with CLL in Europe receives equitable, informed, and optimal care — through collaboration, research, and advocacy.

Values

ECLLA’s actions and partnerships are guided by a shared ethical foundation, centered on respect and integrity in everything we do.

CORE FOCUS AREA

The European CLL Association (ECLLA) aims to enhance research and care for the Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) while fostering collaboration between patient organisations, clinicians and partners. It focuses on the biology of CLL, immune health, infection management, and ensuring equal access to innovative therapies across geographic Europe.

Policy & Access

ECLLA advocates for equitable access to innovative therapies and diagnostics within the EU, participating in policy discussions to promote harmonized standards of care across Europe ensuring that all patients benefit from advancements in CLL treatment.

Partnership building & Collaboration

The organization brings together national CLL and blood cancer organizations, individual patient advocates, clinicians, researchers and industry partners. This association facilitates networking and collaboration through forums and partnerships. This, in turn, strengthens the CLL community across Europe, promoting shared knowledge and best practices.

Patient Empowerment & Education

ECLLA is dedicated to developing accessible, multilingual educational materials that explain the biology of CLL, diagnosis, treatment options, and long-term management strategies. This empowers patients and care partners to better understand the disease, its challenges and participate actively in treatment plans.

Immunity & Infection Management

With a focus on the immune dysfunction central to CLL, ECLLA prioritizes research and education in immunity and infection management. This includes the establishment of a working group and creation of European centric guidelines for vaccination and infection prevention specific to CLL.

Research & Data Collaboration

ECLLA aims to build a comprehensive European CLL Registry to gather anonymized data on treatment outcomes and immune complications. This collaborative effort will enhance research capabilities and ensure standardized protocols across Europe.

Identified unmet needs

Across Europe, people living with CLL experience significant inequalities. ECLLA’s mission is to reduce these disparities by strengthening European collaboration, evidence-based advocacy, and shared learning to ensure equitable, high-quality CLL care regardless of geography.
